Since the days of Perikatan and now Barisan Nasional, UMNO heads the coalition of component parties under its auspices and since then, numerous incitements for the component parties to turn their back on UMNO and abandoning them alone. However, on the conviction of Datuk Seri Najib Razak’s leadership, who is seen as capable of leading a nation of diverse backgrounds of race, culture and religion, UMNO continues to be mandated to lead Barisan Nasional.

All that goes on in UMNO will certainly get the attention of not only the opposition bloc but it is also measured by other component parties in Barisan Nasional. More importantly, each word cited by UMNO President in his speeches during every UMNO general assembly will certainly be assessed by everyone if UMNO is worthy of mandate once again leading Barisan Nasional.

The strength and unity of UMNO were tested ever since its inception and now under the leadership of its President DS Najib Razak, he has demonstrated his wisdom of leadership to manage the internal crisis. The last 2 UMNO General Assembly, has highlighted solidarity and unwavering support from all levels and divisions across the country. Hence, there is no reason why UMNO should not continue to be BN’s avant-garde.

Needless to say, that in his opening speech, DS Najib initially asserted that he was not merely speaking as President of UMNO or Barisan National, but above all, his messages are based on his responsibilities and duties as a Chief to the nation and taking the interest of the 32 million Malaysians.

DS Najib has insisted that as long as UMNO is the key to the Barisan Nasional government, the interests of all the people regardless of race, religion and culture will be maintained and continue to be attentive. This has been proven when allocations for the Chinese were also channelled into education as well as benefits of various business loans and tax reductions.

While for the first time, the future of the Indians has been enshrined in the ‘Malaysian Indian Blueprint’ where a particular emphasis on the socio-economic development of the Indians is designed and implemented in a more comprehensive manner. Likewise, the fate of the people in Sabah and Sarawak, they will enjoy more basic infrastructures that can help improve the quality and well-being of life.

To MCA President Datuk Seri Liow Tiong Lai, UMNO Presidential speech by DS Najib Razak reflects on how much he is concerned about the future of the country and unity among Malaysians. It is convincingly that UMNO will continue to be able to lead other components in administering and driving Malaysia’s success.

MIC President DS S Subramaniam believes that with UMNO President’s message that is comprehensive, it brings awareness to all Malaysians about what BN has done compared to the oppositions who are only able to mess up everything. President of the Progressive People’s Party (MyPPP), Tan Sri M Kayveas discerns that UMNO President’s message on the importance for a country administered by a leader who put the country and the people first rather than focusing on personal political interests such as Dr Mahathir, Anwar and Lim Kit Siang.

Whereas to Gerakan, they believed that PM Najib and UMNO are able to bring Gerakan and BN to a bigger victory in the coming GE14.

UMNO is forever committed to championing the fate of the Malays and Bumiputeras and simultaneously, they had never marginalizing other races’ development agendas which include the minorities in Sabah and Sarawak. For that, the leaders of the component parties in Sarawak too have faith and confidence in DS Najib’s leadership and UMNO as BN tower of strength.

Consequently, there is no reason why other BN component parties should leave UMNO alone in facing the opposition bloc and in particular from Pakatan for GE14. Although they have been invited and get lured to join PH, what is happening in the pact is never sincere and joining them, is just dragging them back to the iron-fist era of Dr Mahathir. What more added with Kit Siang and son who are known for their arrogance.

Therefore to stay allied to UMNO has always been the best choice.
