When news on Felda’s pieces of land at Jalan Semarak disclosed that it had changed hands to a developer, there are those pointing fingers at government agencies with numerous allegations. Now, when FELDA successfully regains ownership of the land, some even accused that it was just a show by Barisan Nasional (BN) to win the next general election.
Even PKR’s strategist Rafizi Ramli is caught blundered to claim that PM Najib Razak may be involved to transfer the land to Synergy Promenade Sdn Bhd (SPSB). His argument was that Felda is under the Prime Minister’s Department which refers to Section 3 of the Land Development Act 1956, which deals with FELDA.
Further to that, Rafizi even quoted Section 3 (3) (c) and Section 3 (3) (ca) that FELDA should obtain approval from the minister responsible for any concluded agreement. Hence he demanded Felda Chairman Tan Sri Shahrir to clarify if PM Najib Razak was involved in the land swap scandal.
Rafizi persistently flopped in his accusations that even the basic matters about Prime Minister’s Department (JPM) function is mixed up. JPM is just the regulator. Even so, PM Najib himself is astonished and thus he instructed for an immediate thorough investigation conducted by the Attorney General, the police and even Chief Secretary to the Government (KSN) is instructed to be involved in the investigation.
PM Najib’s directive is loud and clear. He demands to set up a forensic audit investigation and insisted that those who are involved to be dealt with accordingly. Should PM Najib is involved as accused by Rafizi, why would he produced such instructions and to the extent, he even emphasized that FELDA should re-acquire the lost land to develop Kuala Lumpur Vertical City (KLVC)?
Upon PM Najib’s directive, FELDA led by its Chairman Tan Sri Sharir Samad immediately lodged a police report to enable a Registrar’s Caveat when previously the Private Caveat was turned down by the Kuala Lumpur City Hall Land Office.
Eventually, the pieces of FELDA’S lost lands are regained after an agreement with SPSB on January 15 is concluded. These efforts are not as simple as anyone could comprehend but FELDA did it.
Perhaps many may wonder why SPSB who was granted the full Power of Attorney (PA), without any cost incurred, they are willing to return them. But many may also not know that this developer had conducted the land transfer without FELDA’s consent which can be considered as a scam. Furthermore, the ongoing KLVC project must carry on, yet the PA granted to the developer will be revised.
However, despite the developer’s conformity, the police report will not be revoked and the forensic audit continues that any rogue involved, actions will not be withdrawn.
