MACC 48 HOURS WARNING – GUAN ENG’S ARROGANCE IS ON THE BLINK

Share This:

48 hours have ended and Guan Eng’s fate either be sued or not, remains resumed. It is a matter of whether Guan Eng will be charged for civil or criminal by MACC for his allegations that Phee Boon Poh detention is “illegal”. Hence, to MACC it is something serious when Guan Eng attempted to defame an agency that patently has no self-interests in carrying out their duties. On August 24, 2017 in Komtar Penang, with audio and video evidence, while attending to journalist questions on the issue of illegal Sungai Lembu factory, Guan Eng was obviously mentioning the word ‘illegal detention’ by the MACC.

After all, Phee Boon Poh’s lifted remand is yet to be finalized in court as the MACC has already filed an appeal against the decision of the Penang High Court. When this appeal has not been concluded by the court and any statement from any party regarding Phee’s arrest is sub judice and is considered as contempt of court.

Apparently, Guan Eng did not dare to go beyond any comments despite refusing to apologize as demanded by MACC. But the usual DAP in trying to defend Guan Eng to secrete his mistakes, they assume that as the Penang Chief Minister, he is entitled to give his views and make public about them.

Hence, if that is how DAP perceives than the commission would also have the right to take legal action and DAP should not deny just as it is Guan Eng. If it is true that Guan Eng’s indictment on Phee’s arrest is illegal, the question now is, will the Penang government willing to sue MACC?

If it were not for DAP’s political interests, surely Guan Eng would not accuse the MACC’s actions as illegal. As DAP is currently experiencing their worst deficit of confidence due to the corruption and abuse of power, Guan Eng’s lists of failures in Penang that have been exposed by Barisan Nasional and the numerous problems of Penangites that DAP-led government failed to handle, DAP is desperate to regain them.

After much of the wrongdoings are uncovered and DAP is actually too ashamed on first, MACC charges against Guan Eng’s corrupt practices and now followed by his right-hand man Phee Boon Poh for the same crime, the best tactic is to play and pretend to be the victim.

By right, as a Chief Minister, Guan Eng should not interfere with the MACC’s investigation and allow the investigation to proceed without hindrance to ensure that MACC may continue to play its role to reduce or eradicate any corrupt practices.

After much of the wrongdoings are uncovered and DAP is actually too ashamed on first, MACC charges against Guan Eng’s corrupt practices and now followed by his right-hand man Phee Boon Poh for the same crime, the best tactic is to play and pretend to be the victim. In all fairness, as a Chief Minister, Guan Eng should not interfere with the MACC’s investigation and allow the investigation to proceed without hindrance to ensure that MACC may continue to play its role to reduce or eradicate any corrupt practices.

But alas, it looks like Guan Eng prefers otherwise. Worst still when Guan Eng and Phee Boon Poh tried to solve the Sungai Lembu residents’ sufferings by giving out RM10,000 and a basket full of durians. Is this not just another forms of bribe?
